Mobile Processing Units

Old mobile processing unitFor as long as oil has been used as a coolant and insulant in transformers, the companies that formed EOS have been providing the means to maintain it in peak condition. Prior to the development of the UK's 275/400kV supergrid transmission system, this was a matter of removing particulates and moisture. In addition, we must now provide vacuum pumps for the evacuation of transformer tanks and high-vacuum oil processing stages to achieve the extremely low levels of dissolved gas content and even lower moisture contents required by modern power transformers. Furthermore, particulate removal and electrical characteristics have advanced greatly over the years.

EOSL TransVacsThe EOS fleet of Mobile Processing Units (MPUs) comprises a range of plant to suit a wide variety of applications, from the first fill of the largest generator, transmission transformer or reactors etc. operating at Supergrid voltages, to the drying of relatively small industrial and distribution transformers.

All MPUs are supplied with their own power supply and a crew of experienced operators. Each is equipped with facilities for performing appropriate on-site testing for the monitoring of the operation.
